I have a 1995 mustang GT. It has the original engine in it and I want to replace it simply due to high mileage and loss of power. However, this is a daily driver - not a show boat, so I am not interested in a super hi-power engine, just looking for a dependable engine that sounds good. I can say that I'd like to use a GT40 engine, like what would have come in my car had it been a Cobra. Can any of you guys tell me who sells such an engine new w/ zero miles that doesn't have a rediculas price tag on it? Web links or company name and phone numbers are welcome.

No such thing. Buy an engine out of a 96 explorer and have a machine shop rebuild it.

a few years ago when my bottom end took a crap I went with a rebuild from jasper engines/trannys. They do not do the gt40 specifically but it would not be hard to swap out the intake, heads, cam and injectors while it is still out.
