Default Another Mexican!

After reading a bit about the mexico blocks i thought i would look into it up here in canadaland.

Not even an hour after the ad was posted on kijiji, a guy emailed me with this standard bore beast.

So, the plan down the road is to build a 347, and i did not plan on using a stock block. I was looking into either a dart or a world, but couldnt feel comfortable with the price. I knew it was alot, and worth it for the strength, but not for my use.

Looking at a NA build, attached to a 5 speed for some reliable fun.

I know the block wont be a roller, but id like to here everyones thoughts.

He is asking $400

Is it tested for cracks? I'd make him pay for that at that price.

So have him take it to a machine shop? Can they test it?

How do I tell if its a 1 or 2 piece rear main seal. Will that cause crank problems ?

there is no difference between a block made in mexico and a block made in the usa. Judging by the look of that block, I'd say the seller is on crack if he wants $400 for it...
