If an 8.8 was swapped in who knows what year rear your dealing with now.

Realistically, who cares what year it is? Its a rear end, and if he knows its an 8.8 from a mustang with rear disc its all essentially the same. As long as your mount points match up you'll be ok, but the conversion from drum to disc takes a little effort but with some mild mechanical knowledge you should be ok. Just as said it will be wider, to reduce the width to stock is quite pricey, I prefer the wider stance myself though.
