Hey I just picked up a 9 inch in great shape for $100 complete with axles...anyway the ring gear has the numbers "4210" on it, any idea what gear ratio I have?

Also I saw no c clips, so how do you release the axle to remove it from the tube? Do you have to pull seal to do it? I wouldn't think a seal is holding an axle in!

if you can look at the gears without removing the axles, you don't have a 9"

post pictures, count the teeth on the ring gear and the pinion gear.

Just the number on the ring gear...that is another chunk I have in addition to the one in the axle right now...

9" Fords use a retainer thing on the end of the housing.
There will 4 bolts holding it on.
Undo those and the axle will come out.
Then you can remove the center section (pig).
Chances are that it either 3.00 or 3.50 ratio.
