new 82 GT Top - time to mod..
I just joined the forum and i am itching to do some stuff. I love when you get money back from the IRS.. its like XMas ( LOL)
Well i have read so many things on the net and i am so confused. I am only a member of this forum for Mustangs because it was highly recommended.
My car has approx about 106,000, 4 spd, compression is right on the money.
(completely stock except rims)
I have located a 1989 Ford F150 5.0 [complete engine] for 200 bucks w/ 65,000 miles on it.
I also might be able to get a set of gt40 heads for about 300 that have less them 40,000 on them.
I am wondering what cam. intake and carb. I am also on somewhat of a budget.
Also I found a Kenne Bell 2.1 supercharger for 500 for the kit. (NIB)
perhaps someone can help me make this decison.
here is what i have to work with:

thanks,

If that '82 were mine I'd start at the rear bumper and work my way forward.
First thing to consider is the rear axle.
Need to get an 8.8" out of a later Mustang before you worry about the engine, good running 6 cylinder cars tear uop that 7.5" axle all the time.........
BTW, look for an '86 or later Mustang for the axle, 100% bolt-in.......

sorry I have not replied. I have been super buisy. I picked up the KB and the other engine. Also 2010 dash, center console, and 2 sets of gt40 heads. Yes tinman i was told to get the rear end changed due to the torque the car will be making. So i am looking to do a change over to 5 studs rather then. 8.8 w/ 3.55 gears is what Kb told me when i called them, It will be a while until i can afford the rest of the parts necessary for the KB to be put on. I am switching from carb to EFI so this will be a fun feat to do. Also there is a 85 SVO for sale in my area if anyone wants to know more info contact me.
