Default How to control my first V8?

Hey guys. A few months back I got my first mustang, a 93 gt with a manual transmition. I was used to a 4 cylinder 98 corolla though, and so I would assume this would feel a lot faster but I just don't feel the power. Im not thrown back at all. Am I doing something wrong? I shift round 3500 rpm and I am almost flooring it. I love my car, I was just expecting much more power and quickness. Thanks guys!!

first make sure it is in good running order. fluids all fresh and clean, good plugs, clean intake, etc, etc...compression check good..ensure the care is mechanically sound BEFORE you start throwing mods at it and driving like u stole it.

Yeah I had everything checked and everything was good. Ill try shifting later and see how that goes, I just don't know if it's bad for my car? It has 200000 miles

No, it's not going to hurt the car. You are barely getting anywhere with 3500RPM.

I feel the same way with my car my friend, then was informed on here that a stock foxbody V8 is not even as fast at most V6's today.

If you feel comfortable enough, put the pedal down! Of course make sure at least your oil still has life in it, but what may feel like "almost" flooring it may not be anywhere near and you may be surprised. I have a 90 celica, which should be comparable if not quicker than your corolla, and even though the celica is quick, it won't stand a chance compared to my mustang
