where to find a new 5.0 engine

Default where to find a new 5.0 engine

Where do i find a new engine that is the exact same as the engine in my 91 mustang gt and how much does it cost?

All i can find is ford racing engines that have like 300 plus hp thats over 3k dollars...

Latemodelrestoration has economy short blocks. Run like $700 I think, would be alright for stock.

I don't think they produce that block anymore so, all you will find is re-built stuff I imagine. Ford Racing may obviously have new blocks in the shed.

Just a "block" is only the block. No pistions or anything. A "short block" is going to have your crank and pistons. "Long block" is going to typically have that plus heads, cam, and timing chain.

I guess basically what i'm asking is if the engine dies in my Mustang what do I look for to find a whole new engine? I don't really know what all goes into it. But I was told when I bought the Mustang I could find a whole engine for around 1k...

whole engine for 1k most likely would be from a boneyard, that is a higher end one......you won't get a new crate motor that cheap.

If I were looking at a crate motor, what's the cheapest whole engine...since I don't know how to tell if an engine is complete or not.
