Not a typical 3g alternator wiring question.
Hey yall,im looking for an opinion.I have 3g alternator so obviously i have a 4 guage power wire.It is ran in front of the radiator where the oldharness is and that seems fine and dandy. Now im getting ready to reinstalled ac in a few weeks and now i looks at it and with the radiator and ac condensor installed, the wires for the main harness and 3g alternator wire will be smashed.I dont like that because then the wire will rub and rub, then bam, issues!!!Now im thinking about rerunning the wire except this time, put the fuse on the alternator side, instead of the battery side and running the wire under the engine instead, just like the starter wires.what do yall think of that?i dont forsee an issue but maybe im missing something.i cant have that wire where it is so it has to move!thanks.

I routed mine along the fire wall with a circuit breaker. It was the best location for the breaker and I hooked it up to the fender solenoid. It actually routed pretty well and I put a wire loom or whatever you call them on it so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb

the firewall isnt a bad idea actually.i know i do want my fuse closer to the alternator since theres alot more room to mount fuse as opposed to by the battery.my wire is actually hooked up to the solenoid but i just call it battery side so i guess my quote is technically incorrect.

That's part of the reason why I did the firewall, but I also kinda liked how it looked better. Since I put on a strut brace I had to move my vacuum connector which left a hole to bolt the circuit breaker on. It seems to be effective, even have plenty of space from heat sources

Any power wire running directly to the battery, needs to have a fuse close to the battery; within 12" (closer the better). If you do not and you get a short to ground on your power wire by the battery, you're going to have issues. Such as an exploding battery, possibly damaged hood, damaged paint.
