302 Build Advice
 

I just bought my first Mustang, it's a 93 Hatchback Foxbody that didn't have an Engine or Transmission. So i bought an old Carburated Engine out of an 85 Mustang (I have my reasons for a carbed engine and not an EFI engine) but its a stock engine and I'm wanting to do a build up on it. I'm wanting to get around 300-400 HP out of it in the end and I'm wondering if yall could give me some advice on some parts I can get that's gonna give me some more HP. I'm not rich so my budget is around $2000-3000 and any advice will help. I'm guessing right now its putting out around the low to mid 200s in HP. Thanks-Wesley

BTW, the last Mustangs to come from the factory used 600cfm carbs, built by Holley.
I can see a 650 D.P. in the future if you do things right car will fly.
Is that block a roller block or a flat tappet type?
Better find out now as it makes a LOT of difference........

300 is easy on your budget, 400 will take nitrous though with your budget

you dont even need to do a cam, but heads and intake all matched with 1.7's and a 100 shot will get you 400. skip the nitrous and you'll be at 300

go with 4.10 gears and mickey et streets to make it all work you should run 12.50/11.80ish off and on the juice

leave the whole freakin thing stock and go buy a turbo kit from www.on3performance.com, with 3000 as your budget, you can purchase the turbo kit, get the needed fuel system and a tune and you will easily be at 400 rwhp, had a buddy with ported e7 heads, stock bottom end and roller rockers and gt-40 intake and 14 psi from the on3 kit, he laid down 477 rwhp, so 400 will be cake iirc he had less than 3k into it even after the tune.

yes the fastest and easiest way to get the power is nitrous especially with a carb! you can and 100-150hp for about 400$

You can turbo a carbed car but it isnt cheap in the end as an efi kit!
