Have a 1990 mustang 4cyl that I converted to a 5.0. The 5.0 donor car was a 86 Lincoln that ran fine with 85 thousand plus miles. Used the wiring out of a 1990 gt with maf and computer. Car starts up easily, but idle goes up and down for a while then turns off. I can drive the car but runs sluggish...need help.

Sounds like a possible fuel problem. Does it smell rich at idle and lean with some load? Or maybe it's something as simple as getting a tune since your kind of mix matching systems
