its a 3/8-16 bolt (6-7")
sooooooooooooooooo found out my issue.
out of the three holes in the head, I've only ever used the one for the alternator. Well now that I need all three for the vortech bracket, it would figure the other two are stripped the first couple theads, maybe a 1/4 inch or so.
vortech bolts, that are the right size/length per the instructions only go into the head about a 1/4 inch..... I think the cylinder head has about 1/2-3/4 of a inch of room for the bolt, so IDK why they don't advise longer bolts?
so once i took the braket off, I was able to feed the bolt past the messed up threads, and its in there very good.
so what i'm thinking the easiest fix would be to go buy bolts that are 1/4 inch, or so longer then what they recommend.
otherwise i have to repair the head, which I don't really feel like doing.
always some dumb **** to deal with. So much for getting done with this install before I go on vacation.
