Default 5.0 power

What would you guys think if I said I wanted to put some 170cc in 60cc ex heads with 1.7 rockers on a stroked 302 with high rev manifold switching to a much simpler carb setup- 4 barrel 800 cfm edelbrock? It's off of a 91 Lincoln (5.0 HO stock but getting bigger heads)

Just for a simple powerhouse or is this over doing it? ( for a drag setup)

Any suggestions?

Just how big of a motor is this?
I would need more info to make any sort of a statement, like what the camshaft is and all the other detials.

It was a ford 5.0 HO. And looking at seeing which camshaft wood be best. The one I found has an Intake and exhaust duration 286, lift at 050 is 224, valve lift with factory rockers is .542, lobe separation 112

800 cfm is overkill to the max. 650-700 would be plenty.

That cam is way small. So are the heads. you need some thing in the 190cc range, if not more if you are planning on racing the car.
I don't think I'd use the Edelbrock carb either, 750 mechanical secondary is what I use, built by Quick-fuel on a Edelbrock Vic Jr intake......
Car runs preety good considering that I'm about 3200 altitude and usually get 4800'Air density. 10.85 @ 126+

When you say bigger cam do you keen longer duration, more lift, or what. Also have to keep in mind the heads maximum valve lift?

more lift and more duration. In my old bronco I was running almost .550 with stock rockers. Since you're using a 5.0 HO motor you already have the roller train, you can stuff a huge cam in that bitch.
