I'd say to listen to dad even though I didn't with my last fox but it took me seven years to get it to near perfect condition. I'll never spend that much time on a vehicle ever again.

Ii dont think I would scrap it I would part it out then scrap what is left. I see lots of parts that someone is needing . Take the money from parting it out and put it toward a mustang fund.

Default Update:

These are photos of what had to be cut from the engine bay, plus some of just the condition of the rest of the body...... Despite its condition, I think I'm going to hang on to it. I don't know why, but I just can't let it go..... I talked to my dad about swapping the front end on it, he said we can look into it. Anybody have any experience with that? I'm just going to take my time with it.

I was going to say keep it, SLOWLY work on it. If you got it for free, you have no investment in the car yet, and you would be doing the poor car a favor getting it closer to running condition again. I hate to see any mustang get scrapped.....I think of the 1980's and late 70's of people looking at 67 fastbacks in similiar condition and saying scrap THEM......The foxes are really rising in popularity, in 15 years there will be less of them around, and while this one is close to death it is not dead yet. I'd say store it, and just slowly invest a little in it. I'd say get the front end up to snuff first. Get the frame and body up to shape, THEN if you decide to sell it it would be a lot more appealing to the average rebuilder.

I'd also try to get the interior back up and running. Not restored (unless you do intend to keep it)....But even just reattach the original seats if you have them, tidy it up. After the car is normal again in the front end, and you do decide to sell it, it will be better than now.

You'd be saving a mustang man. And much respect, because even at 30 I would not want to tackle that......

If you have your heart set on a Foxbody one day and you have lots of room take the good parts off, and take Dad's offer until that good one comes along. They are out there.
