Default In need of advice!

I bought this car with these gray racing stripes, now I don't mind them they match the bullitt rims, but, they are very very faded and chipped in places. I cannot tell what they are made from I do not think they are vinyl they feel rough to the touch.
I don't have much experience with paint and body so I need some advice on either getting rid of them, or getting them redone because the paint on the car is in great shape and the places where the stripes are chipped show that the paint is in good shape underneath and the rest is not faded. SO, what should I do? any help would be great!

Thanks!!

Looks like old brittle vinyl to me , they get like that after years of setting in the sun .

Your best option is to use a heat gun or a hair dryer to heat them up a little at a time and try to peel them off. Be carful you don't hold the heat gun in one place keep it moving and with any luck it will soften and peel off.

Unfortunately since they been on that long , you will still see where they were after removal because the paint that was covered will be a bit darker due to sun fading.

Buy a kit from Ebay, or go to a sign/graphics shop and have them do some. The sign shop route will cost a little more, but its usually higher quality and they will install it.

i actually just drove down to a local specialty auto paint shop, they do police cars etc and the guy said it was actually painted on, poorly done, but painted on he said he could re spray them to match the wheels for around $200, does that sound like a good idea?

200 doesn't seem too bad...since they are already painted on it's probably your best option
