Tranny swap
#7
I just swapped mine from a built AOD to a T5 this last summer. After alot of cursing getting pedal assembly in, very very happy with my decision. Totally different car, much more enjoyable as a dd and at the strip. Id "almost" do it again.

Don't know if this link will work but it's the one I used when I did my swap.
If you have the room for a donor car that's the way to go. Or I was lucky enough to find a complete swap package deal on craigslist. The guy had everything needed for the swap out of the car and ready to go. Just make sure the T5 was from a 5.0 mustang, the 4cyl. ones are weaker. Do a search on all of this, you'll be reading for hours.

you don't need a donor car........source the parts from where ever, I just did one for a guy, the biggest expense is the t-5, iirc, I sold a rebuilt t-5 to the guy I did one for, for 600-650 iirc, when it was all said and done including labor iirc, it cost him under 1500, I was able to gather most of the hard parts up for him based on what I had stock piled and through a friend got some other stuff, customer bought the clutch stuff all new as well as shifter, you'll get much better stuff if you gather it piece by piece than from a ragged out POS
