Hey guys... I am building a bit of a project and I am trying to figure out what year of 5.0 would be best for a drag build. I am going to try to find a wrecked mustang and salvage all the pieces from it for my project... Going into a F100...
So what year would be best for strongest engine, auto tranny, rear end, etc?
I'm not an expert on 302's, but that'll require a bit of power for a 302. I'm not sure that block will last very long at those power levels. Maybe somebody else can chime in

Well I may upgrade in the future, but for the time I wanted to get an engine in it and running solid... I figured having the rear end out of it was worth it...
How much hp can a 95 stock engine handle?
How much hp can a 94-95 forged internals low comp handle?

500ish depending on previous condition and how well you build it. If you want it to last, you'll have to keep the rpm's down. You can forge everything if you want, the block is still the weak spot. Low compression, so I'm assuming boost?
you're not gonna run 9's on a stock block and have it last any length of time nor will the tranny in stock forum, basically, all you will use from that car is the shell
