Timing at 10 or 14 degrees?
Is it a big difference running 14 degrees over 10? I don't do alot if highway driving so I prefer the power over gas mileage. Was just curious what the differences would be. I have stock heads and cam

Without a tune, your engine will make noticeably more power at 14, or whatever your car will tolerate. A tune will advance your timing, and they usually want the base timing at 10 degrees so they know how much the tune is advancing it over stock.

well with advancing the timing you get more power and more MPG...as long as you keep your foot out of the gas you get more mpg lol
i run about 14 in my 5.0 with a t5 and auto trans mass air computer with 3.55 gears i dont get any pinging with 89

what you need to figure out is if it runs the same at 12* with 87 octane. unless of course you wipe your butt with $100 bills...then leave it alone
i run 14* and 87 octane NA. i SPRAY 80 with 89 or 94 if its hot or cold, 89 if its under 80*
if its really cool ? i'll go 87 and 80 shot.
since octane reduces the combustability of the gas....you have to run higher timing just to get back where you were
