Default 11's with E7's

I'm just curious if anyone has run in the 11's with E7's with no power adder……all motor. I know money could buy anything, but I'm talking daily driver, street legal car. My car has a set of worked over E7s from previous owner that work great. Yeah everyone rips on them and yeah I wish I had aluminum heads, but that's not gonna happen this year……again. What's the quickest time you've ran or heard of?

Someone has had to of dun it, my rusty, surviving of craigslist, no suspension, pieced together car is into the 12.4's on my second time at the track after the 5-speed swap. I think it's got a 12.3 in her, but the last 3 tenths might take some work. I'm getting that "this is gonna hurt" feeling launching the car but I've never ran slicks before the swap so I know don't know what the car can take.

I'd agree, not enough air flow to reach the 11's

I do believe they have been in the 11 with stock heads for years in NMRA class.

JPC has run 10s on E7s N/A, but it's not like they're putting 12k miles a year on those cars.

From Tommy Godfrey at JPC:

"When I was running the E7's in FS trim I ran a 10.96 @ 121mph @ 2960lbs on BFG's. N/A no port work."

Well I really wasn't expecting those kind a #'s. That's impressive but probably not an everyday driver lol. I'm at 300/320 at the wheels right now in a car that weighs 2750 according to a old scale at the track. My car has pulled a 1.66 60ft on stock suspension (besides lowering springs) and trapped a best of 109. But my trap speeds are all over from still playing with shift points. There is a 400 rpm difference between stock tach and my Autometer. I'm starting to believe my stock tach more. I have a set of Hotchkis upper and lowers I'll throw on before next tnt. But car launches straight and no wheel hop.And bump my launch rpm up, 3500 right now.
I didn't start this thread to brag about my car, please don't take it that way. Last year I started a similar thread to see if 12's were doable. Now 11's seem within reach. I think it would be kinda rare to have my daily driver reach 11's on E7s.

Would it be cool? Yes. It shows you researched everything and engineered it to work.

Is it practical? No. Cylinder heads are where you make your power. The amount of time and money you'll dump into a build with the heads being the choke point would be ridiculous. And thats not with a guarantee that you'll meet your goal.

Just take the extra time and save for a nice set of heads and eliminate the "what if?" questions. I'm not doubting your build skills by any means, I'm sure its possible. But like I said, just impractical.
