Default 8.8 Rear End Build

With the motor coming to a close in the next month, I need to start looking at beefing up my driveline. I've already decided on a upgraded TKO 600 from Astro and a Ford Racing aluminum driveshaft. Besides the rear gears, I haven't the slightest idea what to do with the rear end.

What are some suggestions? I know very little about rear ends, other than my chances of breaking it are pretty good. I'd like to try and stay away from a spool, as their street use and cornering isn't great. What about C clip eliminators? Axles - I'm thinking 33 spline Moser or Strange. I've read 35 splines have issues in the 8.8's.

I'm not racing the car until next year, so that gives me the winter to piece together the rest of the drivetrain. I'll be doing test & tune at the track in the fall and get the motor right, then its back to the garage. Thanks guys in advance, I appreciate the input.

with the power you plan to put out, 4.10-4.30 gears, 31 or better yet 33 spline, c-clip eliminators, rear end girdle cover, as for the Posi unit to use, Detroit true-trac are an awesome set up

Yep, Ed spec'd my cam for 4.10's. I'm definitely leaning towards 33 spline axles. What's this I keep reading about upgrading to 9" ends instead of the c-clip eliminators, what are they talking about? I looked up the Detroit truetrac, its only available with a 31 spline

I'm shopping around for my up-grade. Will drag with street 285'ish no F/I modded N/A
Torsen T2 is on Boss because it's good for stop/go track, The Yukon is good for drag.
Detroit? I feel if I bomb proof the driveline may avoid the sled truck ride home.
Spec. Stage1 clutch with steel braided lines and aluminum flywheel, ShaftMaster aluminum Yukon posi with 3.73 FR aluminum Diff cover, Alloy diff shafts, LCB on my LCA's and a Swarr-bar. BMR Safety loops also act as stiffeners for the driveshaft trench flexing away under your Stang belly.

This is cheaper then fixing it after separating from the axil.

Later

P.S. Still open to Clutch suggestions, Spec seems to be the entry/DD still can parallel park but has 595 ft lbs.

Moser can supply your 33 spline axles as well as a 'C' clip eliminator kit for a standarn diameter axle I'm sure.
Ok, follow this. All auto axle spline counts are based on 1" diameter, the more spline the greater the strength.
33 spline axles are a great idea but do any of the heavy duty 'posi' type units come with 33 splines?
Even better, imo, would be 35 spline.
Mosers catalog explains all this much better......

Yeah i was looking for a posi unit that used 33 spline, most of them use 31

Spline pitch is based on 1" diameter, not spline count.
A splined shaft with the same pitch tooth but larger count will need to be bigger in diameter (i.e. stronger)
