Default Brakes

What's a good brake upgrade option for the 94-04 cars? I was looking at doing the M-2300-Q upgrade but its no longer offered. My steering wheel shakes like crazy under braking and I have pads that are less than a year old. Feeling my rotors, they're pretty much done and warped to hell. I've searched and all I can find is AM's brakes, but I'm not spending a grand on Brembo or Wilwood brakes

have you looked into hawk performance. ceramic kits.

I think you can get the slotted rotors and pads for about 250. for the front.

Yeah they had popped up during my search. Only thing is I wanted to upgrade to a better caliper than the single piston crap we have from factory

I read something some where about some of the sn95 pple were upgrading to the new edge cobra or mach1 braking on the front end. They said stopping power was a lot better with less fade.
Like I say I just read it some place and for the life of me cant remember what I was even searchin for lol

I'm liking that one. Although for a grand I can have matching rear SVE calipers lol. How many people upgrade the rear discs?

I think most just do the fronts as 85% of braking is done in the front.

I just upgraded the stock 94 GT brakes on my car to 97 Cobra brakes. I Kept the stock master cylinder because it has a larger bore for more aggressive braking (still feels normal), picked up the front calipers off a wrecked 97 cobra in a local yard with brackets for $15 bucks each (if you dont want to hunt through yards you can get the 03/04 cobra brakes with slightly 2mm larger pistons than the 96-98 cobras off ebay for $350-400) I rebuilt the calipers for $4.29 per side, got new lines for $16.99 each, the caliper pin and harware kit for $7.49, new rotors for $33.99, and new pads for $70. An afternoon of work and a little bit of paint later and I am very pleased with the results. Total investment was just slightly over $200 bucks and I even picked up the larger spare tire from the wrecked 97 to clear the big brakes for an additional $20. Didnt bother with the rear brakes because I am looking for a 01 or 03/04 cobra complete IRS.
