Default Hood Pin Alternative

Has anyone ever put a safety strap or something else on the hood instead of hood pins? I'm putting a fiberglass 2.5" cowl hood on and just wanting a cleaner look without hoodpins. I'm not going to rely on the factory latch. I know of 5 foxes in my area with the hood that came up.
I will put pin in if I can't come up with a strap or something

I'd just do the pins.
Super reliable as long as the pins are in place......

I made a homemade safety for hood it turned out being a pita and only holding on one side. Then i ended up just doing pins, i never liked them either now they have grown on me i actually like them alot and have no more worries that hood will fly up!.

You say you aren't going to use the factory latch but what about the secondary release? Those have a nice hook on them that catches onto the latch bracket. That should work just fine as long as it properly adjusted. Cervini's hoods have provisions to mount the secondary latch.
