60-0 Distance
Hey guys, I have a 93 GT with stock brakes on it. I was having a very hard time finding out what the 60-0 stopping distance was on a fox stock (w/ rear drum) brakes on it was?
I would also like to know if anybody has done the SN95 Cobra front and rear disc brake conversion, and what the 60-0 stopping distance was/could be? I have seen that on the 93 Cobra, the stock 60-0 distance is 141 ft. Any personal expreience or reliable numbers? I'm just wondering if it is worth the $2,300 to do the conversion. Thanks in advance guys!

4 wheel disc brakes are the way to go but tires, brake pads & performance brake fluid play a big roll in stopping distance.
My 2013 GT did 60-0 in 140ft when I bought it. I had Ford look at it & they said that was normal. After upgrading brake fluid, Hawk HPS brake pads and installing 255 Conti DWS06 all season tires all around my 60-0 dropped to 111ft. With P-Zero 255/275 summer tires my best 60-0 was 113ft.
My 2014 Chevy SS Sedan with OEM 245/275 summer tires & factory Brembo brakes stopped 60-0 in 105ft but after switch to Conti DWS 245/285 all seasons the 60-0 dropped to 103ft.

Sorry I can't help with your second question, but I'd stick with the cheaper route and just get good pads and tires. I'd think that would make the biggest difference for a street car.
