Need to pick up 3/10ths or so.

I finally had a nice day and some time so I took the 95 https://mustangforums.com/forum/new-...d-mustang.html to the track. 15.27 @91.5. 70 degree weather. 2.25 60'. Spinning the tires on launch more than not. Here is my problem:

Before my son went off to the Naval Academy last summer, he would take his 96 Camaro V6 to the track and race his friend's 2013 V6 Camaro. He went 16.0 vs. his friend's 14.9. Needless to say, he didn't win much. He comes home on leave at the end of June and I'd like the 95 to be in the 14.9's. It's a 95 GT convertible auto with a bazillion miles (odometer quit at 95k who knows when) and aside from deleting the air pump, Flowmaster mufflers, an x-pipe and shift kit, it seems to be stock. Does anyone have ideas that are cheap and easy to help me into the 14's? I was thinking hi-test gas and advancing the timing for starters.

3 tenths is 30 hp or much better traction. Gears and tires would probably get you there by themselves. Timing would only be 5 hp or so; so it will take more than that.

75 shot on n2o will cut about a second off. Drag radials will do the trick for the 3/10ths your looking for.

+1 ^^^

If your spinning, your not winning. The first 60 feet is all important. Knock your 60ft down to 2.10 - 2.05 and you'll be in the 14's.

Set of gears alone will just about do what you want it to do......

gears plus a slick will do the trick, also when asking such a question a budget helps!

Tires, gears, suspension!
