Pull codes to see if you have a bad ECT sensor. This sensor is the one that tells the computer the temps of the coolant / engine so it knows how much fuel to give at cold start or hot.

How long have you had this symptom since you installed those mods? Was the cold start issue immediate after the mods? Also, what base ignition timing are you using?

I'd check your ECT sensor as well, as 88_oragepeelnotch mentioned.

My check engine light isnt even coming on. Having to give it gas on the start up is point less if i have fuel injection. Might as well be carburated

Did you pull the codes? Some codes won't throw the check engine light so it's important to see what the computer has stored in memory. All you need is a paper clip and a pen and paper.

My 89 had this problem. It would take for ever to turn on when cold but once warm it would start right up! I spent a few hundred bucks before I could determine that the distributer went bad! Good luck!

If this is a symptom that popped up shortly after your mods it is likely because it needs idled up just a touch more . A bit of advance on the dizzy or a base idle reset would probly take care of it. My fox idled about 800-850 rpm when hot, I tried to get it down to the 750 range and it did the same thing on cold start. E303 cam needs a little extra rpm when cold.
