90 Mustang GT -$1500

I've always liked the look of the 90 GT body style.
A guy is selling one for 1500.
Hasn't ran in two years as he bought it as a project. It was running when he parked it.
Has a rebuilt engine.
Has turn signal wiring issues
Has no O2 sensors
Body looks primered but clean

His transfer title said Cobra but his title says GT. I've read that there was no Cobra thy year. Not really concerned about this point.
Interior is clean.

The engine having been rebuilt is what makes me nervous. The guy hasn't touched it since he got it and doesn't know anything about it really.
I see that this model can go from anywhere between 4k to 20k.
Is this a deal at $1500?
Or am I wasting my time?
Either way, I have to assume it's a project car. But once fixed up, will I like it? Or is this a junk year.

Opinions welcome!

If you do your own wrenching, and the body is solid--- strut towers, floors, torque boxes. Then I think it's worth it. BUT, plan on getting to know this car in intimately, as you'll be working on it.

Now, it's not a Cobra.
No 90 GT is worth 20k
And, no year Fox was junk lol.

You will enjoy these cars when they are running reliably. Especially with the manual tranny. They are fun to drive, modding can be done without breaking the bank, and parts are readily available.

The minor problems this car has aren't a deal breaker, it's the problems the owner isn't telling you about that could end up costing you.

in canada they called the gt's cobras...could be canadian built

It has the Cobra badge on the passenger dash where everything else I've seen has the Stang (of course, anyone could have added this.) I'd heard about the Canadian version. In the end, seems the engines are the same, that it's just a trim difference.

Thanks for the items to look for. I'll especially be looking for hidden frame damage. Don't mind a project (it's what I'm looking for) just need good bones.

Thanks for both replies.
