Thanks for the tips guys.

After spending the weekend with this car, I can't believe I turned it down the first time. It's actually a very nice, solid, stock 83 with 87k.

WHAT WAS I THINKING !!!

The V6 will stay for now, it runs like a top, great oil pressure, and starts with just a touch of the key, very impressed. Does have a pretty good rear main leak and slight exhaust leak, but drives great. No shakes or shimmys, no rattles, minimal wind noise at speed. And the way the doors close, just like new. A nice solid thump.

That 5.3 route was what the PO was going to do, until he found the wrecked 91 he's still parting out. If the price doesn't drop for the 91 drivetrain, I'll check into that swap. And I agree tin, whatever is going in there, it'll stay carb. At my age, I like simple lol.

There is rot behind the drivers side rear wheel which I think I'll let a professional patch up. I'm usually not the type that farms out work if I can help it, it's just the cars to nice for me to mess it up. Body man I am not.

I've got some time on this, as my wife won't even get back in the car after I showed her the headliner, mice made a nest with a hole right above the drivers head. She can get out of a car pretty quick.

Thanks, it's more fun than I thought it'd be, opening the garage door and seeing 2 Fox's.

She'll be getting a good old-fashioned cleaning, buff and wax soon. I started in a corner of the hood where the paint is oxidized the worst. Shined up like new, this will be pretty sharp car when done.

It did get put on the back burner for now as I've been getting my 88' ready for this years Power Tour. My wife and I are going for 4 days, and REALLY looking forward to that right now.

lol, yes to some, but it's also "grass roots hot rodding" to others. Take a car and make it faster by any means possible without breaking the bank. I'm on the fence on the loyalty thing, but the 5.3 is a tempting option. I haven't researched it thoroughly yet on how much work it really is, but the final results are impressive.

I look at it this way, I own 9 cars/trucks. 4 Fords, 3 GMs, 1 Mopar, 1 Honda. All are good vehicles, with the 91 Honda Civic being my favorite this week. Next week, who knows lol. I might find another something else.
