Default Projected RWHP

Hello,

I have a small budget project going on a 93 lx coupe 5 speed car. My goal is 300-320 RWHP and this car will be street driven only. The car's motor is currently stripped down to the heads about to replace the GT40 irons and E-303. Here is the mod list that will be on the car soon:
[LIST]
306 (rebuild in 2012 with new rings/seals)
T5
3.73 gears
AFR165 w/ Comp Cams dual valve springs
Comp Cams NX274 - I know I would do better with a custom grind but I got a good deal on this one. (I plan on adding a 100-125 shot in the near future)
BBK 70mm TB
BBK CAI
76mm MAF (calibrated for 24# injectors)
24# injectors
BBK FPR
Car has No smog but has AC and Power steering
Using stock ignition with MSD Coil. I do have a accel ignition system to install on it but I may switch to MSD.[LIST]
GT40 Tubular (Lower will be ported by my Uncle. He's really great at this stuff, I trust him . I was gonna send it to TMOSS but he quoted me $195 not including shipping..
bbK longtube headers into Off Road H-pipe, Flowmaster Super 44's dumps
Underdrive pulleys
Aluminum radiator w/electric fan
Aluminum driveshaft
130 amp alternator

Am I headed in the right direction? I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

I think that list might get you pretty close to the 280 - 300 mark.

Why the smaller AFR heads ? Are these just something you have already or will be buying ?

thanks for the reply

The only reason I'm using these is because they are heads I already had. I'm just replacing the valve springs. So I agree with you with a 280 - 300 seems ideal.

I see, well I think you'll be very happy with the 300ish at the tires. I know I am...

It makes for a very fun street car. Enough power to impress at will, but not enough to break things when it hooks.

Good luck with the biuld and keep us posted on the progress.

Your exactly right. A nice quick street car is my objective. I noticed in your sig you have 300 with ported E7s. Did you put bigger valves into them? Also do mind sharing your bolt on list or pm me. I would really appreciate it.

I honestly don't know. I bought this car as is, from a friend of a friend's cousin type deal. All I was told was the E7's were ported and polished. Who ever pieced this biuld together must have known what they were doing because you usually don't get those kind of #'s from E7's. Well, unless there's a ton of money in them.

Bolt on list is BBK fender mount CAI, Pro M 73mm MAF, Accufab 65mm throttle, Typhoon intake, worked over E7's, Harland Sharp 1.7 roller rockers, block and pistons are a mystery, but supposedly bored to 306. Cam is supposed to a a letter cam, but which one ? I don't know. BBK equal length shorties, Off Road H pipe to Flow masters with tailpipes.

Car dyno'd 270 with a built AOD, I swapped to the T5 and took it right back where it dyno'd the 300 with no other changes.

It's been a great car for me. Daily driven when nice out, and raced 2-3 times a year at TnT events. Even did 1800 miles in last year's Hot Rod Power Tour, with 2 stops at 1/4 tracks along the way. That's where the picture was taken in my sig.

Hope yours treats you the same.....

Just to update you guys and gals, the car is still being put back together (slowly). I recently decided I'm going to swap out the dated BBK cai for a Anderson 3.5 Power Pipe and install a SCT Mustang 4-Bank Eliminator Chip. Hopefully this is gonna get me around the 305-310 rwhp range.
