1995 5.0 Leaking
Hi I recently bought a 1995 mustang gt 5.0. With 76k miles. Bought it with a check engine light on for running to lean replaced the maf sensor and upgraded to a cold air intake. I notice my car was running warm, so I change the thermostat. I notice it had a small leak I took it to the shop to replace it . They change the gasket which I had a feeling I didn’t put it on right. Notice it was leaking again had the thermostat housing change. Only replaced the thermostat once but the gasket twice and then the housing. I’m noticing a small drip but I can’t feel anything under the thermostat but the engine is really hot. Any recommendation what it could be? forgot to say it has a small oil leak due to the rear main needs brakes and had the hub caps replaced as well. It’s in great shape for the shape paint nice inside really nice as well I want to keep the car nice looking and driving well. It sat for a while from what the previous owner said. They said they would only drive it a couple thousand miles a year. |

As with any gasket, it's important to have clean, flat mating surfaces and to use proper torque on the fasteners. But maybe the thermostat housing is finally sealed now, and your leak is coming from somewhere else? Before going any further, it might be better to just clean the area to get a good read on where exactly it's continuing to leak from. FWIW, the car is just about the right age to start developing a leak from the water pump and/or timing cover... it happens. |

Are you sure it's not the water pump? They have a weep hole in them and when they start to go bad they will leak from the weep hole letting you know it's time to change it.

Might check the clamp to the hose as well, but yes timing cover/ water pump could possibly the issue |
