93 5.0 Mustang
Hi I want to know the normal running tempature of a 93 5.0 but with the a/c on
mine is 186 with a/c on
what’s the normal?
whats the normal tempature when sitting parked while the a/c on too
mine is 200

coolant should boil around 256 - 275°
If your temp gauge is in the Normal range you're fine. My 93 Tbird with the 5.0 would get to the upper part of Normal in stop & go traffic, but never overheated.
From google search, you don't really need to worry about the lower coolant hose, it's the upper one which gets all the stress.. make sure its' in good shape.
If it's been a while since any coolant flush, I'd suggest going to Goodyear to get it done. they charge around $90 for a pro flush.

Also make sure your coolant fan (which is probably either electric, or directly connected to the engine spins freely when cold. On my Bird as the engine heated it'd heat an element in the fan which made it spin faster... Not a perfect design...but that was in the 90's)

I think it ran a little cooler with the ac on as the fan was more engaged....but it REALLY depended on getting back to a good speed to keep air flowing through it... once I was back up to speed the temp would go back to mid normal.
Hot Midwest summers do that.

On the Foxbody,there was a ground strap mounted between a lower intake bolt (rear) or cylinder head thermactor pipe bolt (rear) & the firewall.Its the ground for the ac clutch,interior/exterior lights,alternator & the gauges.If this ground is loose,corroded or missing,it will cause the temp gauge to
increase when turning accessories on like
the ac,blower fan,headlights,etc.The Foxbody used a flat braided ground strap at this location or you can use a short 4ga battery cable in its place instead.You wanna have a minimum of 3 main grounds for the 302 HO efi engine,in order to make a complete ground loop.
1) 4ga cable from the neg battery post to the engine block.......
2) Flat braided ground strap or 4ga cable from the intake/cylinder head/block to the firewall.......
3) 10ga wire from the neg battery post to the fender apron and another wire from this fender apron location to the black/green wires (that lead to pins 40 & 60 at the ecm)
on the main harness.
** Note ** If you're using the oem style neg battery cable,with the included 10ga wire/pigtail/tubular connector,the pigtail can simply be bolted to the fender then the tubular connector can be plugged in to the
tubular connector on the main harness.
This ground is imperative for an efi application since its not only the ground for the ecm & the sensors,but its also the one that completes the ground loop.
