Default Clicks when trying to start

I have an '85 GT and when I try to start it just clicks, but will start when I jump it. I have a new battery, new starter solenoid relay, new ignition coil and replaced positive battery cable. I'm getting frustrated, any ideas?

Check your grounds, esp the one at the battery.

Look for an engine to chassis ground.

take a pocket knife or a battery terminal cleaner and clean/scrape your ground cable end

Try taking a set of jumper cables and connect to the neg side of the battery Take the other end and ground it to the motor, frame in different places try starting the car every time you change the location of the ground. . Might help you find where or if the ground is broken some where in the system.

A clicking solenoid is usually a loose or corroded battery cable or ground or a low battery. If you touch multimeter leads to the battery posts, disconnect the harness from the coil and get an assistant to turn the key to start or use a long screwdriver and jump the two large posts on the solenoid. The meter should read 9.6+ volts while the starter is jumped or while the key is in start. If voltage is below this value, the battery needs charged or replaced.Your grounds should be between the battery and block and the intake/cylinder head rear and the firewall. You can also run a 10ga or thicker wire/cable from the driver fender apron to the neg battery post. This will make a complete ground loop.
