2015 GT Fuel Mileage
Hey all, how's it goin? I've had my GT for a week and a half now, and i love it. It's a phenomenal car. However, that said, I've got just under 600 miles on it, and the thing has been GUZZLING gas. I mean, it rivals me for beer guzzling in college. Also, i noticed that at around 70mph, in 6th gear cruising on the highway, i'm getting mid to upper 30's for fuel economy.
Can anyone validate these numbers? Has anyone had any long trips with theirs yet that can shed some light on the subject?
Thanks guys!

Mileage
No doubt that this Coyote likes to drink! I have 2500 on Ranger now, and most of that is local stop and go. On my way to school @ rush hour I take the back way. about 70 min of averaging 22mph I get 19 -20ish. On the way home I take the freeway, and get 24. I average with no long drives about 21.
The 2 longer cruises I have taken were rather spirited, and I got 16.6 and 15.9 on those runs

OP, yours is way too young to be looking at mileage yet, and hand calculated is the only way to go, averaged over several tanks.
As quoted from the 2015 owners manual.
"Calculating Fuel Economy
Do not measure fuel economy during the
first 1000 mi (1,600 km) of driving (this is
your engine’s break-in period). A more
accurate measurement is obtained after
2000 mi (3,000 km) to 3000 mi
(5,000 km). Also, fuel expense, frequency
of fill ups or fuel gauge readings are not
accurate ways to measure fuel economy.
1. Fill the fuel tank completely and record
the initial odometer reading.
2. Each time you fill the fuel tank, record
the amount of fuel added.
3. After at least three fill ups, fill the fuel
tank and record the current odometer
reading.
4. Subtract your initial odometer reading
from the current odometer reading.
5. Calculate fuel economy by dividing
miles traveled by gallons used (For
Metric: Multiply liters used by 100, then
divide by kilometers traveled)."

Gas Mileage? Really??? If that is truly a concern you should not have bought a GT. Like any other pony/muscle car....met to breathe and run. Best I've done on a 200 mile drive is 20. Mostly around the 14-15. Passes everything on the road but a gas station...I'm OK with that.

I use 93 with 10% ethanol (at least it is labeled as 10%) all the time and have no issue. The engines today are made for it and so is the fuel tank and fuel system. Plus unless it is a garage queen you will never have the same fuel sitting in that car for long anyway so the water should not get a chance to fully separate from the fuel.

*Just to touch base on this again, I have been switching between 87 and 89
on alternate tanks. I get about 20-21 as reported by the car. I do stick my
foot in it occasionally and am not a moderate driver. Though I
am courteous and patient.*
