Porsche 911 vs. Mustang GT
Hey Guys,
Oddly enough, this one hasn't been done to death! I've got a 2016 GT and I can't believe Ford made this car. It's the first american car I've ever owned. Owned a bunch of German and Japanese cars but this stang is the first American car and it is a monster.
I've been using my brother's '14 Porsche 911 and I gotta say, I am more convinced than ever that Ford has created a masterpiece with this new Mustang. The new 911's feel like a light-weight lawnmower with the weight in the wrong place and the road noise of a Civic compared to the new Mustang. To my mind, it is literally unjustifiable what Porsche is charging for what is, frankly, way less car. And this with the Euro down 1/3!
Anyway, thank you Ford. I'm lucky that I'm in a position in which I can afford to buy any car I want and my next will be another Mustang, probably the Shelby GT. I am also absolutely blown away by the dedicated aftermarket market for these cars. They are truly designed for car guys and the coolest car I have owned in awhile by a long shot.

I've never got the 911 even though I did think the whale tail 70s turbos were sinister cool. engine in wrong place, though Porsche guys say that about front engine cars. but for all but the very best drivers the understeer/push of front engine is safer and more predictable than oversteer/tail happy.
i'm shocked by the road noise in the cabin on a late model 911. but wtf I've always wondered how they sell these things..

Yeah, the older 911's from late 80's and early 90's were completely different cars. Felt like a Swiss safe. Nowadays there's really no justifiable difference. I wonder if we are witnessing the end of car brand snobbery...
