Engine Oil and Long Term Storage

Just bought a 2015 Mustang GT (400 miles on it), and have two questions

1.) Oil -synthetic or regular? Is there no real difference if I change it often enough, or should I pop for the synthetic? How about oil filters? Any suggestions/ sharing of experiance would be appreciated.

2.) Storage -it will be stored for 9 months a year, as I travel back and forth from Colorado to Florida. I'm wondering if I should put it up on jacks to avoid flat spots in the tires? Other storage suggestions anyone has?

thanks!
Ross

I like synthetic, lasts longer and doesn't break down as quickly. Don't waste your money changing oil every 3K, 5 to 7K is fine. If you put it up on jack stands make sure the suspension is resting on the stands so that it is loaded. Nothing worse than letting the suspension droop unloaded over time.

Ok this is from memory. I would use a synthetic ester base oil such as redline because it has an affinity for iron and steel and thus leaves a film so better protection when you show up to start it.
Agreed on jackstands. I assume you will use stabil and or seafoam [or something decent] to protect and slow gas deterioration and, of course, some sort of battery tender.

to avoid flatspotted tires and also maintain a normal suspension load, you may have luck with inflating tires to max rated pressure and then set the car on something like these where it's round, like your tire.

I like the idea, but with a set without wheels: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZAGJAM...XIP2JYAX&psc=1
