Default Advice with choosing tires for '16 GT in Florida

Opinions please.

I have a 2016 Mustang GT coupe. I have to replace the OEM Pirelli's at 30K miles (of course). I had OEM Pirelli's on a Volvo once and they lasted 15K miles so I guess I should be happy with 30K.

I live in Florida which is known for sudden torrential rain downpours.

Several hours a week I drive interstate 80+ MPH thanks to Waze and Escort radar detector.

My main focus is safety driving high speeds in the rain, which is the worst case scenario in Florida. Cost is not an issue.

I have narrowed my tire selection to the following:

1. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ (W- OR Y-SPEED RATED)

2. Continental EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06

3. BFGoodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S

I had the Continentals Extreme Contact DWS on my Miata and they handled well in the rain until it came time to replace them at 50K miles they absolutely fell apart and I could hardly drive the car without it swaying off the road. But again, that was at 50K miles.

I now have the BFG's on my Miata and they have done well on wet roads.

I've had Michelins on other vehicles and were happy with them.

Another caveat. I may be moving to northern Nevada in a few months. I want to take the Mustang and of course it snows there.

I would like to hear from anyone with a new series Mustang, especially GT, with any of these 3 tire choices.

Thanks in advance.

I have Z rated Michelins right now. They are ok, but in CO, I need an all season tire. I would think a dedicated summer tire would be fine in Florida. I have heard good things about the Contis and also Nittos. Where in Nevada are you moving? It rarely snows in Vegas, but of course Reno is different. I would not recommend the BFG. That was my last tire, and the were so loud at highway speeds I got rid of them.

The Michelin is a good tire. I just don't find the traction to be as good as I'd hoped. So that one would depend on your driving style. I drive pretty spirited, to put it mildly. I don't feel like it is losing traction when it's cold out, but I don't ever drive in the snow.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about GForces. However, if I lived in Florida instead of NJ and could run summer tires all year round, I’d likely go with Pilot Sport Cup 2s.

All three are good tires, as are the Nitto G2's by all reviews.

I'm running the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ on my '09 GT500. Got 10k or so on them so far and have been very pleased. They work especially well in the SoFla rain.

I almost went with the Continental EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06. Lots of excellent reviews on those tires on Stangs, but I'm a huge Michelin fan and went w/them, even though they cost a few $$ more.
