So in trying to realign my hood after installing hood struts, one of the 4 hood studs snapped. I stopped by an auto body shop and they said that since the hood is aluminum they won't touch it to weld in a new stud. He said that the welding will most likely ruin the paint and it would have to be repainted as well. So wondering outside of getting a new hood, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Some pretty nice aftermarket hoods on eBay...

If you find someone that knows how to weld aluminum, you might be okay.

You could drill out and tap the plate for a bolt, or another stud, threaded...
