Default 2018 GT PP1 Wheel and Tire Question

I have a 2018 GT PP1 and I am looking to get wider tires on it, the 255/275 setup isnt doing it for me. I added power and the 275 Michelins cant stay planted. Does anyone know if the PP2 wheel setup will fit onto the PP1? What's the widest set I can get on this thing without clearance issues or rubbing?

I bet a call to Tire Rack would get you that information.

PP2 should fit since there are no body modifications.

A couple of issues to consider. First with the pp2 tire and wheel size I believe the magnaride susspension is needed in order to control such a large tire. The other is that with my '19 pp2 although the tire size is the same front to back you need to make sure that the fronts go to the fronts and backs to backs otherwise your tires will severely contact the front struts if not damage them outright that 1/2" less difference in wheel size for the front is everything, I'm not sure but there may also be an offset difference too.

Think what want but the stock PP1 suspension will not control the PP2 wheel and tire properly. You will not find the PP2 wheel and tire set up with anything less than magnaride suspension including the GT350. An alternative maybe a stiffer shock/spring set up but there is one more thing to consider. I don't believe the PP1's come with all of the additional body stiffeners the PP2 does. You need body stiffness with the proper suspension to control the momentum of the wheel and tire on rebound. Big tires that don't stay planted on the road is a waste of money for performance and may actaully reduce it. If you have a stiff suspension with a flexy frame then now the frame essentially becomes an un-tuned part of your "suspension".

Where are you getting your information? This is ridiculous.

Thanks thats what I was thinking.
The difference in price bewtween PP1 vs PP2 seems like not much difference in mechanical stuff. Wheels tires bigger, Maganaride?, some changes appear to be body bling (some of which might be functional?) No automatic available in PP2?
The PP2 Wheels look way nice!

I am getting 10.5 front and 11.5 100% forged rear wheels made. I will be running 285/35/19 front, and 325/30/19 rear tires. They are being make to be flush with fenders and not cause any issues with rubbing. Akio or Paul at PK Auto Design. Great Price, Great service (so far). 305's on the front I was told would not work on PP1 due to fender clearance.
