Don't forget the possibility of pent-up demand which could shoot the price past sticker and leave little room for haggling.

Plus as much money as ford has spent on this engine/transmission we still have no idea about reliability until these cars get out on the road. Plus this could be a very popular year for the mustang, just like the Camaro's this year, I doubt dealers will knock much if anything off of these cars till 2012.
I agree with you about new technology and economics. But this engine will not be produced like a new TV technology (example: LED TV's). This engine is replacing the current one in the Mustang and F150; meaning it will have similar, if not better, production numbers in 2011 as 2010. Thus there is no "learning curve", only R&D expenses that have already been expensed in the year the research took place ('08, '09, & '10).

The dealers will be able to get a premium on the new 5.0 only for the people that just have to have the newest and greatest. I will wait 'til 2012 because I never pay over invoice for a vehicle (I got my '08 GT Premium for 26,000 OTD - including rebates!).

This whole new engine without a car redesign isnt anything new. Anybody remember when the SN-95 platforms switched from the 5.0L to the 4.6L? Any price increase will probably be about the same as then.

I don't know. I am really not impressed with the 5.0 badge and would not put that on my 2010 GT. I really like the GT logo on the fender.

It would have been far better to keep the GT fender badge and then do a special 5.0 emblem/logo on the power dome. Curious if the fake gas cap on the back will have 5.0 or GT on it.

I like the 5.0 badge. It reminds me of the 5.0 fox days.

But, if I got one, I'd probably replace it with this:

Or something similar. I'd like one to look like that but also say "High Performance" maybe.

ain't no ****ing ****. The new mustang looks cheaper than ours. God forgive me folks but I think the 05-09 is the best looking stang ever besides maybe the 19681/2 Mustang.
