Ask anyone to pick their favorite mustang, NOT INCLUDING one currently owned, I'll betcha over 75% will say a year with three rectangular vertical taillamps and a fastback roofline...65-70, 05-09, bet 20% would say 03 cobra, the rest scattered among the other 30 years...totally a guess- might put up a poll.
right now I'd have to say a 67 fastback...

I remember I wasnt too crazy about the 05-09 rears. With time I ended up liking it especially when I got my 07. The '10 is the same, both (05-09 & '10) rear ends become an acquired taste just like beer lol.

+1, except my last choice would be 09 for obvious reasons.
Not me. When I first saw the 05 I thought "Finally! A truly retro Mustang" Unlike the New Edge which were claimed to be retro but were a flimsy attempt, the 05 really broke through. I liked it all around, and still do. The only thing I would change is ......... Nope, drawing a blank.
