? on tune/exhaust/cai

I'm currently looking for a used 2010 and found a dealership that will install a cold air intake, dual exhuast with the xpipe, and a custom tune. They state this will increase the V6 performance 20-25% is this accurate by everyones experience.
What kind of results have people experience from all of these mods in regards to hp gains and mpg gains?

Also they advised that in doing this at ford dealership the vehicle will retain full factory warranty. The price $2,995.00.

Thoughts?

i would expect 20-30 horsepower tops from that, mpg gains will be MINIMAL if at all.

this might be a stupid question but 2995.00 for the whole car?!?!?!? if so jump on that like its trampoline made of jello

I'd also expect somewhere around 20-25 hp on the 4.0. I'd shop the site vendors, or fleabay to price the parts. Intake/tune you can do yourself, the exhaust is pretty easy if you have a lift, or of minimal cost for a shop to install. You can do the whole thing for under $2k yourself. As far as warranty goes, they may honor any work they do there, but as far as Ford is concerned, you change tune/intake, and break something, it's on you.
:)
If you feel more comfortable having them to it, work them on the price.
Trust me, I've been doing this for 14 years.
;)

I think he meant 2995 for the cost/labor of the parts, not the whole car...but thats just my 2 cents

Jesus... thats even more expensive than my dealership... They all have room in the labor and parts... try to deal with them

Buy the car but do the CAI & tune and exhaust aftermarket. The exhaust work is easy but you won't gain much if any HP. However, an aftermarket CAI & tune will yield more RWHP than Ford's CAI & tune. You should be able to buy a CAI & tune combo plus exhaust for under $1500.

Also, aftermarket CAI & tune and exhaust won't void your warranty. Don't let them intimidate you.

I did all of that on my car for less then 1.2k! the cai/tune can be had for 650 easy from tillmanspeed(this is what I got) or sites like brenspeed! I had a muffle shop do all the custom pipping on the dual exhaust conversion and they charged about 450 plus tax. You will get sound n looks out of the exhaust system very little in terms of gains. Now the tune will wake the F*** out of your car. I wouldn't pay 3k for those mods but if they guarantee your warranty, you gotta decide if its worth the extra 1.8k. That canned tune from ford wont compare to Tillmans All-out tune.

Depending on what v-6 model you get, in addition to the 3k for intake, tune, exhaust and install price...how far away would you be from a base v8? That's nearly 100 hp and 100 tq, and you can probably get a hell of a deal on a bare bones 2010, and add in the 3.73 rear axle you have a low to mid 13 second car. (low as in 13.3)
