2011 5.0 exhaust sound
I don't recall anyone posting about this but I just found these today. This is the GT350, but since it uses the same engine as the GT this will give a good idea about how one type of muffler setup will sound like on the 5.0.

Yay or Nay?
To me, the mufflers used here sound a bit too "poppy." I'd prefer a smoother sound.

I heard the new 5.0 in person at a car show a few week-ends back. It was very quiet and I did not care for it at all. Neither did the engineer that was driving it around to the various shows. He says even under WOT or cruising the highways it is much too quiet.

Well yeah stock these days is going to be super quiet. The government's requirements on that are just insane.
This GT350 sounds like it does not use the stock Ford mufflers, but I'm not sure exactly what. Perhaps a custom job.
I look forward to hearing one with deletes, flows, mac, borla, the usual.

Muffler Delete.... It already has factory resonators to get rid of the trashiness.
The original video released of the Mustang at the proving grounds with the popping exhaust was the new mufflers without the resonators. Im suspect the GT350 prototype may still have that setup that was on the earlier test cars.
Someone at Ford is actually using their Head when it comes to tone (even if they have to be quiet). Freer Flow Mufflers with Resonators and an H-Pipe means V-8 Rumble. The V6 on the other hand has an X-Pipe to make it sound more like the imported hipo sixes.

sounded like an old carb'd motor
I'm sure Shelby is going to do something similar like Ford did with my Bullitt and its H pipe.
Can't wait to hear one of those bad puppies in person. The blower was very quiet though

The more I listen to this the more I'm going to have to call it a Nay. I'm just not digging this. It sounds too weird to me.
I hope other exhaust setups will sound better. I guess we'll see in the coming weeks.
