2011 test drive...possible issue
Hi all. Just took a test drive of a 2011 GT. Very nice car...zero to holy sh(moley) in no time merging onto the highway.
One thing concerned me. At a traffic light the dashboard lights turned off, but I was able to get them right back on again (by messing with the ****).
So here's the deal - and there may not be a right answer...
...I did take the car for a test drive before it was 100% cleared (i.e. it was delivered to the dealership this morning and they had not finished unpacking / prepping it when I came in for a test drive, but they let me drive it anyway)
...the salesman said I must have dimmed the lights or something, which I don't think that I did.
So I guess my question(s) is(are) this...could they have missed something in the prepping of the car (battery?)? Did I just hit something wrong (I think this is unlikely)? Should I just avoid this car due to possible wiring problems?
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Maybe the 11 is different than my base 6 10 but I have no control over the dash lighting, it is what it is with my car, but I doubt you would be messing with the lighting during a test drive! Your call!

I think it is the same setup at the 2010... there is a **** to switch the lights on and the a dimmer wheel to the right of that ****.
............................
Light sensor? There's a thought. I did not realize there was one.
I did have the lights on as it was overcast. Would they have dimmed or turned off on their own based on a sensor if I had manually turned the headlights on?

if you turn on the headlights, when the sky darkens to a threshold, the light sensor will determine it to be dark enough that the dash lights will automatically be 'dimmed' to night time mode.
when the headlight is off the light sensor is off as well.
you use the slider right next to the headlight **** to adjust the night time brightness of the dash lighting
that's probably what happened
