Our cars dont have any way to open the trunk with the actual key. If you hit the trunk button on the fob twice it will open the trunk, or from inside the car next to the transmission.

I read somewhere that the keyhole to manually open the trunk when you can't use the key fob or the button in the center console (like when your battery is dead or removed) is located inside the car, somewhere by the rear seat rests...I've only had my 11 GT for less than a week, so I haven't checked this yet....

Don't feel bad, I've had my car for a little more than a couple of months now and I still have not checked this very thing myself yet.
I always use the center consol button or the key fob to open the trucnk.

Uh oh. These people are wrong; that isn't the redline indicator, that's the Claymore indicator. Does the front bumper on your car have signage saying "FACE TOWARDS ENEMY"? If so, and that thing starts blinking, you don't want to have the car pointed towards anybody you love; your front bumper will explode in a 120* arc five seconds later.
You forgot to check the "Claymore Delete" option at the dealer, didn't you...
