$5,000 AFTERMARKET warranty AND Ford warranty dropped...
#21
they have to prove that a specific part fails due to an aftermarket part/install.
they cant just void the whole warranty due to you having lower tread than expected. how do they know you didnt have the wheels taken off and put on another mustang that was drag racing? spinning wheels, saying you went 160mph, riding the clutch, none of that can void your warranty.

From deep within the Ford warranty site: http://FLMOwner.com/Warranty
I looked up the 2011 Mustang warranty, read the PDF there.
Note that the warranty isn't a "Full Warranty", it's conspicuously marked "The New Vehicle Limited Warranty for your 2011-model vehicle"
Here's some of the facts related to a LIMITED warranty: Note that a "limited warranty" is one that does not meet the federal minimums.

The OP also wrote in a previous post on the board that:
You can think what you want, but I know what I'm chalking this up to.

That young man's lost 2 too many warranties due to pesky 2/32th tread. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice... nah, not gunna happen.

Owner’s Warranty Responsibilities
As the vehicle owner, you are responsible for the performance of the required maintenance listed in your owner’s manual. Ford Motor Company recommends that you retain all receipts covering maintenance on your vehicle, but Ford cannot deny warranty coverage solely for the lack of receipts or for your failure to ensure the performance of all scheduled maintenance.
You are responsible for presenting your vehicle to a Ford Motor Company dealer as soon as a problem exists. The warranty repairs should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, not to exceed 30 days.
As the vehicle owner, you should also be aware that Ford Motor Company may deny you warranty coverage if your vehicle or a part has failed due to abuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or unapproved modifications.
If you have any questions regarding your warranty rights and responsibilities, or if you want to report what you believe to be violations of the terms of this warranty, you may contact the Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-392-3673 (FORD) or the California Air Resources Board at:
State of California Air Resources Board Mobile Source Operations Division P.O. Box 8001 El Monte, California 91731-2990

The OP also wrote in a previous post on the board that:
I stopped because there was a wreck in front of me, and the lady behind me was riding my *** and texting... and she hit me going 60. My brand new maxed out and supercharged 2009 Toyota Tacoma with 13k miles (i was the first owner) looked TRASHED yet they didnt total the truck. I had my frame like laser straightened and ****. Since the wreck the rear wend went out 4 times within 500 miles, the transmission ****ed up once, and e've had a few other problems with the suspension... even after 215k in initial repairs. Toyota turned around and attacked me saying I was abusing my truck (never went offroading or took it to the track) because my drive tire had like 2/32 less tread than the other tires... which if you know anything about tires you know thats barely a difference. They stripped all of my warranties and I got into a legal battle with insurance.

This whole thread is weird. Assuming the OP is making stuff up, I don't see what he/she hopes to accomplish.

You're probably right. If you ask me it's just plain sad that someone would go to this much trouble to make themselves look like an idiot. Who knows though, maybe he'll come back and explain what's really going on. I'm guessing not though.

wow, WTF is wrong with the OP, after reading the post about the tundra, why is he surprised toyota dropped his warranty? He stated he had a SUPERCHARGED tundra that had 215K (probably 21.5K) in repairs done after an accident and they voided it due to 2/32 of tread missing. Sounds like this guy cant keep his vehicle's stories straight.
