How fast will the 5.0 go?
I'm guessing somewhere between 165 and 170. Since the speedo stops at 160 I am not sure how fast I was going.

I only hit 100 today on a US interstate, and not for long too
I was heading to San Antonio on I-35, got to maybe Selma or Schertz before there was nobody in front of me and I had ample room to safely accelerate to 100.
Then I remembered that these San Antonio suburb towns are speed traps and cops prowl for fools like me to set off their sensitive radars. So I slowed back down and thus ended my triple digit run (which didn't even last a damn minute).

The '11 5.0 will get you to the tree you hit before anyone else.
If the 4.6L's are any indication (which can top out at about 150 stock), I'd take a stab at 165 but the final drive ratio is a bit different than the 05-10's so it's tough to say. It takes a good bit more RWHP to overcome drag at those speeds to support even a few MPH gain.

My Stang's speed limiter is disabled with my tune. Although there are some RPM's left in sixth all of the power is being used to push the air out of the way. Anyone going faster than this will need a power adder and serious cooling capacity. It takes around 726hp to move the old FOX body up to 200MPH. My next set of Pirelli P-Zeros will not be "Z" speed rated (the reason behind the factory limiter). Z rating is 149+, but the tires are not tested above 150mph. I'll be installing W or Y speed rated Pirellis soon. Love blasting the Autobahns in Germany and showing the Europeans what an American car can do!
