Yeah, because historically, getting a Mustang from 1979-2010 was not so much a "walk in the park". They've all been rated between 200-315 RWHP, unless you bought a special model. It took a little more than just bolt-ons to run 11's. The new 5.0L starts off with 100 more horsepower than the highest producing GT's in the last 30+ years.

715 HP from a 305 ci Chevy with just bolt-ons and no nitrous or forced induction? Is that even possible?

Please forgive my incredulity, but what kind of bolt-on mods can you put one a Chevy mouse that will take it into 700hp territory?

Anyway, grats on hitting the 11's goal you said in the mag that you were shooting for!

When you get the spray going, do post the vids for that!

EDIT: Nevermind, I saw your nitrous at the end of the vid! Grats on hitting the 10's
Good question on the 1:1 gear ratio. I wasn't a hundred percent sure why Ford ended up going that direction with the gearing. I really do appreciate it. It's nice to have the goals accomplished and to finally finish what we started!

Jim, trust me, it's no mouse, rather a nice 'Rat' ! check my Picasa link (I can't post attachments yet)...........

my best 'DOT' pass was 10.41 @129, whereas with race tires and race exhaust it ran 10.21 @ 131.7

That's one bad *** Monte. You built that car or bought it that way?

Thank you CJ, no that's my handy work, except for the motor which was done 90% by my friend Dave Giunta (Spyder Prep). The only thing 'chevy' left on the motor is the block (4 bolt main LS-6). Given that it is a completely forged bottom end (Calles / JE) I could have easily given it a 200-250 shot of 'laughing gas' if I had desired.

Tranny was a serious modded T-400, 4500 stall convert (AT), full manual valve body, custom drive shaft, beefy 1350 u-joints and yes filling out the rear..........a 9" Ford, 4.33 'spool' , I had a locker on it when it did spend some time on the street but the last couple of years it was campainged at the track thus the spool.

I can't imagine that car with a 200 shot man. That's a serious machine. Keep that car forever, very unique. Nicely engineered and well done.

.... Even though it's a Chevy
