Just picked my 2011 GT up on Monday. Everything has been great up until my drive to work this morning. I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my speedometer and tach light get bright and my center console lights shut off. I had the light "****" (to the left of the steering wheel) turned all of the way to the right. Nothing worked even when I turned that **** to the off position. The speedo lights remained on when this **** was in the off position as well. I tried turning the car off and then on again, but still remained this way.

Any ideas? If I have the start to a lemon, I'm gonna be pissed. haha

There is a sensor up near the windshield on your dash. Depending on the amount of light outside, it will automatically adjust how bright your console / dash lights are. In some cases, like in yours, even turn them off.

Looks like you tripped them with sunlight.

Yes, that is correct. It is the light sensor that causes the dimming/brightening.

What you probably can do is simply turn your light selector switch to simplyy on and off instead of automatic.
That might stop the light sensor from brightneing and dimming the consol.

Haven't had time to read the manual this past week after I got the car due to work. It is my first mustang and my first car to have a feature like this. Sue me.
