MT82 6 speed transmission

Um, did you actually look at any of the threads on the forum before you made this one? I don't mean to sound like a dick, but there are literally dozens of threads everywhere on the forum about the MT-82.
1) 2nd and 3rd gears grind a lot - ford said to put some friction modifier in, which helped, but then they said to stop using it. Unsolved at this point.
2) Pressure plate bolts like to back out, destroying the clutch and making shifting impossible.
3) Skip-shift is causing lots of problems.

jmat - thanks for the post. seems like there is (are) some issue(s).
daredevil,
i've got 5K miles on mine and haven't noticed any problems with the tranny...yet. now, i live in texas and haven't experienced very low temps - several posts made mention of cold temp shift problems. we might be getting down near freezing tonight and since my wife decided to take my spot in the garage thereby leaving my baby out in the cold i'll see how the tranny does in the morning.

ive been driving in freezing weather and snow for the past month and havent had any shifting problems. this car shifts alot like my 07 v6 did. if im just putting around, ill go from 1st to 4th, but if i bring the rpms up to the sweet spot between 4and 5 grand, it shifts like butter.
