Whistle? Whine?

Whistle? Whine?
Got a 2011 Mustang 5.0
I am kinda somewhat new to a manual transmission. I get a whistle or whine when shifting at high RPM. Any ideas? Is it normal? And sometimes it feels kinda like it doesnt wanna go into gear. Any opinions appreciated

Which gears produce the whine? And what RPMs? (for example, at 5000-redline?)
Also, how loud is the whine? So loud that you can hear it with the windows down?
The only reason why I ask is I too get a whine, but only in first gear, but it is very fain. I have to have the radio off and the windows up, and as far as I noticed, it only happens at low RPMs (from normal driving, accelerating from a dead stop).
If your whine is that faint, I would not worry about it.

I was out today driving mine around too, and the whine I have in 1st gear is very faint, and I revved it up above 5K RPM (prob 5500 RPM tops) to see if I could hear a whine.
I only got the whine at low RPMs, and only in first.
For your case, as compared to my car, I would say take it in. And if the tech gives you flack, demand that you go for a test drive in another MT82 equipped 'Stang GT and let him here the difference in person.

M82 is the name of our manual transmissions. The company responsible for making it is called Getrag.
The M82 is not the same manual tranny used in other 6 speed cars, the others are mostly Tremec TRT6060 (the 2010 & 11 Camaro manuals use this, the Shleby GT500 use this, the Viper uses this, and so do alot of 'Vettes).
The primary difference between the MT82 and TR6060 is the MT82 is only 1 gear overdrive (6th gear) where the TR6060 is 2 gears overdrive (5th and 6th gears).
