haha.. wow.. young_gun.. your threads sometime..

the coyote is a DOHC (dual overhead cam) 4valve with twin variable cam timing. 4 cams total.

the old 5.0 is a OHV (over head valve) or pushrod, it only has 1 cam in it and it was a 2 valve(for the most part you are restricted to 2 on an OHV)... i'd say there is more in common with an LS3 than the coyote engine

there are ofcourse benefits to each, style, it's not like GM is making crappy engines and they are dumb.. the OHC tends to be able to be revved a lot higher, the OHV is smaller, and i'd say isn't as complicated. most major vehicle manufacturers have been using OHC for a awhile now.
