Sterling gray or whatever is out; Lava red is in. A few minor color combinations as far as interior/exterior are changed, but I can't remember them.

Biggest difference is the addition of the built-in garage door opener (a Lear Car2U system), and selectable power steering effort (Comfort/Normal/Sport).

Mechanically, potentially a lot that's not considered a marketable feature, especially with the current mehcanical issues. Shifting lockouts the current manual tranny owners are having and other engine concerns (loud tapping at start up).

Where did you here of this information. If it is credible, then I'm happy

Call me crazy but skip shift may not be in the 2012's. I've TRIED to get it to lock me out and no matter what RPM I shift out of 1st gear, I can ALWAYS get it into 2nd or 3rd with no trouble.

Garage door opener is cool. haven't gotten a chance to mess with the steering settings yet.

And from what I've read, the 1 -> 2 shift grinding is still present with some of the 2012 owners. I haven't had any such problems from mine after only 300 miles. 2nd gear is noticeably notchy when shifting ONLY from 1st gear but if I shift from 3rd down to 2nd or roll to a stop and then put it into 2nd to accelerate from a stop, it just slides in with zero effort.

Installing either the joe heck or barton shifter bracket next week though depending on which one my wife bought me for my birthday this weekend

The only "derp" moment I have had with mine was shifting from 1st to 2nd at fairly high throttle, I've had the car do this weird bogging down where the traction control light on the dash is flashing at me.. WTF??

The skip shift is really hard to engage. I very rarely ever encounter it, maybe once every couple weeks I manage to hit just the right combination of coming from a stop, rpm, and throttle input.

Seems like you figured it out just fine.

lol, the '11 I test drove did the same thing on a WOT 1-2 shift. Massive chirpage was erupting from the rear tires going into 2nd and then the advancetrac light started blinking and the car started wheel hopping. I wish my GT had that kind of power!

and Lava Red is an interesting color... I saw it in person this weekend. It's very black until the sun hits it and there are red metallic flakes all over. Very cool.
